THE PHONARCHS, by John H. Chalmers “The Phonarchs” depicts a Neo-Pythagorean cult that rigidly controls all aspects of life, especially musical tuning. A young man discovers alternative tunings with potentially dire consequences.
About the Playwrights…
Ryan Skinner is a screenwriter, TV writer and playwright. He just had his pilot script for a series called The Four Mothers, optioned and shot by Hirsch Pictures. His play Under the Lake was picked for production at The Barn Theatre in New Jersey for their Solstice Showcase. The play was also picked for the annual ATHE Development Workshop and a special TedX Talk as well. Cairo, a three-act play, was just selected for the NEXT! Reading Series in Cooperstown, New York and the Derby City Playwrights Reading Series in Louisville, Kentucky.
John Chalmers is a retired bioscientist from UCSD/SIO where he did research on Prebiotic chemistry. He has been an actor with the Village Church Community Theater in Rancho Santa Fe. His other interests include music theory-based computer graphics, some of which have been exhibited in the San Diego area.
