LAURA’S STORY, by Jean Seager

The play follows Laura, a white woman in her 70s, as she comes to grips with George Floyd’s murder. She delves into her own past, interacts with historical characters, and learns about systemic racism in America. What, if anything, can she do about it? 

About the Author…

A native Californian, Jean Seager has been writing plays for the past five years as a member of the Around the Block Playwrights at Playwrights Project. She received an Honorable Mention in the 2018 “Script Tease of Short Plays” competition, a Judge’s Award in the 2019 contest and was a finalist in the 2019 San Diego Center for Jewish Culture Five-Minute Play Festival. A published author of short stories in both online and print magazines, she has completed a short story collection about Jewish immigrants to America in the early twentieth century.
