Just what is a Scripteaser, anyway?

Good question! The Scripteasers is a writers development group (you’ve heard that before) but our mission isn’t only geared to playwrights. We also have actors/readers, friends of the theatre, and people who are simply intrigued by what we do (and how long we’ve been at it) who come to enjoy our readings and freely contribute their perceptions during the moderated discussion that follows each reading. This has been so successful that we now leave the Zoom room open afterwards to have a post-discussion discussion! All opinions and comments are welcome and to us, they’re all equally valid.

How does this work?

Writers get to hear what they put on paper (and only that) when the play/screenplay is read. That’s really important when one is focusing on improving one’s writing skills, plus the actors get to benefit through practice on cold reads, and the audience gets to learn from each other during the moderated discussion, which produces quality feedback for the author, who has the last comment. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, so please come and enjoy yourself.
