Michael Adler,  President of The Scripteasers, has performed in local films and theatres all around San Diego. He was last seen as the Bethlehem Rabbi in Dr. David Jeremiah’s telemovie, Why the Nativity, released last December.

 

Kayla Adorno is an Actor, Playwright, Producer and Teaching Artist working in San Diego. She received her B.A. in Theatre Arts from San Diego State University with an Emphasis in Youth Theatre. Most recently, she portrayed Zion in a school touring production of Zion’s Story. Other previous roles include Ezpe in DayDreamer: A New Musical, Paulette in Legally Blonde, and Isabel in Esperanza Rising. She’s also had the honor of working with Bocón for the past year reading stage directions for new plays such as BRAT and The Goddess of Lost Things. With the support of her Latinx playwriting group, Pa’Letras she has proudly written Out of the Window, Si Se Puede, Sweet Like Mangoes, and Under the Fence. To follow her artistic endeavors, you may find her on Instagram, @_kaylaadorno. 

 

Marc Biagi is one of the most versatile character actors in the industry, known for his talents in dialects and accents (especially British and Australian), video game work (e.g.,  Star Trek Online and Sonic the Hedgehog games)  and film where he’s played characters like Miles in Things We Dig, a horror-comedy short and Max Komarov in Origin: Beyond the Impact. Marc has also performed extensively in live theater and is a founding member of the comedy improvisation troupe, Mission Improvible. Marc has additional experience in training and education solutions. 

 

Susan Benninghoff is a longtime member of The Scripteasers and takes whatever role she can get!

 

Shelby Blackwood, a UCSD graduate, has been acting since childhood. Her most recent San Diego credits include Macbeth with Trinity Theatre Company and Making God Laugh with POWPAC. Shelby is grateful and excited to be working with Katharine Rex and The Scripteasers once again.  

 

Grant Gelvin  After serving his decades as actor, director, artistic manager, playwright and board member in community and dinner theater, Grant now mostly writes screenplays… and the occasional stage play when the impulse strikes. He is a founding member of the San Diego North County Writers Group and Past President of The Scripteasers.

 

Laura Gracie is a scientist currently working in drug discovery for cancer and fibrosis. She is a native of Rio de Janeiro and grew up in Rio and in Buenos Aires. She emigrated to the US for her graduate studies and lived for 12 years in New York City before moving to San Diego in 2002. She took her first acting class in 2015 and got her first role the next year at the Coronado Playhouse production of Hamlet. The experience of being part in that wonderful production was so thrilling that Laura started auditioning for other roles at San Diego Community Theaters. She also continued taking classes at the Mesa College Drama Department and was cast in a few of their productions, the most recent in the Spring of 2022 when she played the magician Alcandre in Tony Kushner’s The Illusion. Acting has been an amazing experience for Laura that allowed her to meet many interesting and wonderful people involved in all aspects of theatre productions. She is extremely thankful to all the encouragement she has received from teachers, directors, playwrights and her family and friends.

 

Carm Greco is labeled a drama queen by those who know her best.

 

Rhiannon McAfee is a San Diego-based stage, screen, and voice actor; director; and dialect coach. McAfee is a regular player for Narada Radio Theatre and Pulp-Pourri Theatre audiodrama productions and can also be heard as Girl Friday Jenny Mcintosh in the audio drama, Rex Rivetter: Private Eye that will soon start its 5th season. McAfee has appeared in dozens of productions on stages all over San Diego. Some favorite stage credits include playing eight characters and a magic bathtub in the award-winning West Coast Premiere of Puffs: Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic (The Eastern) and directing the same play for Fenix Theatre Collaborative in 2023; her award-winning performance of Laura in The Glass Menagerie at OnStage Playhouse; as well as in productions of November, God of Carnage, and Pride and Prejudice.

 

Tony Perez is a graduate of SDSU theatre program. He is presently teaching theatre for the Chula Vista Elementary School District focusing on literacy, listening and speaking. Tony has previously worked with Playwrights Project, The La Jolla Playhouse, Asian American Repertory Theatre, TuYo theatre and The Lawrence Arts Center. 

 

Mary Munger Taylor  Mary Munger Taylor’s musical theatre career spans the U.S. and Europe. Career highlights include starring on Broadway as Sally Bowles opposite Joel Grey in Hal Prince’s 20th anniversary revival of Cabaret. She also created the role of Eve in A.J. Antoon’s Genesis at New York’s Public Theatre, and can be heard on Decca’s Scottish Opera recording of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene. Since moving to California in 2009, she has performed in Bodhi Tree concerts and kept busy for 10 years as House Manager of San Diego’s historic Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park.

Heather Warren   Acting credits include: Revlon in The Revlon Girl (2023), Susie in Puffs (2022), Rosalind in Turning Off the Morning News (2022), Mary Anne in When We Were Young and Unafraid (2021) for which she was awarded an Aubrey, Marianne in Constellations (2021), Ellie in Going to a Place Where You Already Are (2020), Anna in And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little (2019), and Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (2018). In her life off the stage, Heather has recently received her masters degree in marriage and family therapy and is working towards her doctorate. Special thanks to her partner, Tyler, for his unwavering love and support.

 

Kymri Wilt  A long-term member of the Scripteasers, Kymri is a travel writer and photographer who works on both sides of the camera. She is thrilled and honored to be making a rare stage appearance reading in the Showcase for Roy Sekigahama. Between travels, you can find her surfing her homebreak in Cardiff by the Sea.
