What? No readings of new plays from local writers until…September 13?

Yep, you got it. The Scripteasers takes a HIATUS from public Zoom readings every year during the months of July and August during which time we read contest submissions – ALL of them! And, if you listen very hard, you might even hear the scratching sound of red pencils making indelible comments in the margins of all the plays submitted to our annual contest, “Script Tease of Short Plays.” OK, just take my word for it, our contest committee and judges are nearly wearing their eyeballs out while burning the midnight oil reading through all these tons of submissions to decide who gets the Cash Prizes. Winners to be announced around September 01, 2024.

We’ll gear up again for readings in the fall. If you’re not on our mailing list, send your email address to: info@scripteasers.org. In the meantime, support our San Diego theater community by going to see a local play. It’s the best way to keep original theater alive.
