An Evening of Two Short Plays
COMMON GROUND, by Roger Henry Two polar opposite southern men hold a racially-ignited dispute on the barren pedestal of a Confederate Civil War memorial statue that has mysteriously gone missing. As their heated debate carries on into the night, will they be able to find any common ground besides the space-restrictive pedestal that they have chosen to maroon themselves upon?
ARTIFICIAL SUNSET, by Max Kennel While Friday celebrates her 21st birthday in a casino, she shares a heartfelt dance with the ethereal casino worker, Chip, which leads to a macabre entanglement. (Content warning: Domestic abuse, addiction and mention of drug use.)

Roger Henry is a budding playwright and member of The Scripteasers. He has had several short plays produced across the country, and strives to entertain while delivering messages centered around the human condition.
Max Kennel (He/him) is an award-winning playwright, and member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Horror Writers Association. Outside of writing, Max can be found directing, doing improv, and photography. He recently acquired a B.A. in Theater Arts from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo.
