    About the Author...

    • Marielle Vizcarra
      is a bilingual Mexicana-Americana who identifies herself as a poet, playwright, podcaster, and creative. She is fascinated by the family dynamic in Latinx households and enjoys portraying these stories in her work. She has had stage readings of her plays in San Diego, Boston, New York and Atlanta. In October 2023, Marielle’s ten minute play “Cafecito” was produced as part of Teatrx’s La Vida es Cortos/Life is Short Festival in Houston, Texas. In May 2025, her short play “Estelita Mi Estelita” was chosen to be part of D-Fest, a ten-minute play festival at James Madison University. She is also a founding member of Pa’ Letras, a playwriting group whose mission is to uplift and champion the voices of Latinx writers.
