Short Plays Competition”

LEAVING LEBANON, by Richard Fouts  (1st Prize)

ASSISTED LIVING, by Roger M. Henry  (2nd Prize)

WAITING IN THE WINGS, by Katharine Rex  (3rd Prize)
Many accomplished actors wait in the wings as understudies for an accident or illness to give them an opportunity to go on.  Maybe just for one performance, one weekend… with unwavering hopes for a callback, a break, a chance to perform.

 About the Authors…

Richard Fouts’s drama and comedies have been performed in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. His drama FIRST DAY IN DECEMBER, won first prize in San Diego’s 2022 Scripteaser competition and was later performed at Scripps Ranch Theater. He has also authored several 10-minute plays which have been produced at various short-play festivals around the US.

Roger M. Henry is trying to take the “strict” out of “restricted living” by following his creative dreams of script writing in between working and family life. Of course doing so would leave him with “reed living”, which really doesn’t make any sense. Roger lives, works and writes in San Diego, trying to be a productive member of society – so don’t put him in a home quite yet.

Katharine Rex‘s first on-stage love was dance, and then improvisational theater.  She is currently an actor, improviser, coach and most recently playwright and screenwriter. Although she’s been writing her whole life, writing plays and screenplays is a new and eye-opening joy.
